Welcome, TJ Weir!

Aurora Financial Strategies would like to welcome our new addition to the team, TJ Weir.

TJ is a Kokomo native and 2014 graduate of Ball State University where he majored in Financial Planning and Investments. After already successfully completing the life and health insurance exam, TJ has moved his focus to completing the Series 65 exam to become a Financial Adviser. Shortly after, he will turn his focus to the CFP® Program to better support his clients. As TJ continues to develop into his new role, he will also be working side-by-side with the Aurora team to expand his industry knowledge and help the firm continue to positively impact the financial lives of our friends, family, and other members of our communities.

We expect TJ Weir to be a great addition to the team here at Aurora.  TJ is intelligent, ethical, hardworking and loves to help people.  These are the essential building blocks of a financial advisor that can be successful in driving meaningful, positive impacts for our clients. We are thrilled for TJ to be a true ambassador of our firm.  Adding quality members to our team allows us as a firm to raise the bar in how we service our clients and fulfill our mission of helping our community, clients, family, and friends create the life of their dreams, free from anxiety and stress about money.

At Aurora Financial Strategies, we believe having human conversations as a financial advisor is critical. So often, our industry is reduced to the numbers and ignores the emotions and psychology that go along with money. Knowing the concepts that improve financial lives is important, but the ability to effectively communicate those strategies in a way in which our clients can put the plan to action is a skillset that we believe all successful advisers must have. TJ has the ability to communicate fairly complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand, and a calming presence that will help he and his clients get to the issues that are important for their financial futures.

Previously, TJ was a member of the Ball State Baseball team and was drafted in 2014 by the San Diego Padres. He then pursued a career in baseball before retiring from the sport to settle with his family in Muncie, Indiana and to start his new journey in the financial industry. Prior to joining the Aurora Financial Strategies team, TJ was working as a financial analyst for an automotive group based in Mid-Central Indiana.

TJ is married to his wife, Kati, whom he met at Ball State while they were both athletes on campus. They recently welcomed a son, Jordan, into their family in June of 2021. When not in the office, TJ can be found spending time with his family, supporting his wife as she coaches the Wapahani High School Girls Volleyball team, and assisting his dad with the Kokomo High School Boys Baseball team.

Hear what our Founder/President Billy Cardwell has to say about the addition of TJ Weir.

“Having known TJ in multiple capacities over the years (an athlete, an intern, a client, and also a friend), I can say with confidence that the Aurora team is better with TJ on board. As we continue to grow, it is my mission – as the founder of this firm - to ensure that both our existing clients and any new families that come aboard receive the same high-quality standard of service that many have come to expect with Aurora Financial Strategies.”
